5 Months

 So, yes I know I'm always behind on this blog but this time I have a legitimate reason. We did a back up on our PC so I was only able to get on a small laptop devoid of pictures and all my favorites. Therefore, I wasn't able to post, ugh. Oh well, onto the main topic, our baby girl, can't believe it's been 5 months. 

It just doesn't seem possible. I always heard the saying as a mom, "the days are long but the years go by quickly." Thus far that isn't true for me. My days and months seem so short. I wish I could slow down time. Two more weeks from today and my baby is half a year. It happens so incredibly fast. I am trying to drink in every moment with her.

So, about 4 days before she turned 5 months daddy felt a tooth bud and as of now we're still waiting on it. Poor baby has been touchy and relatively fussy so hopefully it will cut soon. She has started to reach for items. Life is all about gnawing. Everything that touches her hands goes in her mouth. Most of all, she is our smiley baby with lots of laughter. Finally, Maggie has been sleeping better in her crib. Yay! She still doesn't sleep the 9 hours she was sleeping in the basinette but she sleeps 6 or so which is nice! We bought her a highchair recently, getting ready for her introduction to solids in a few weeks. She can't crawl yet but she is able to kick her way up the crib and spin completely around on her floor gym. I can tell she is on the cusp of a lot of milestones and I'm excited and saddened at how fast she is growing and changing. I love our baby girl with all my heart and praise God for her daily! That's it for now!

Oh me oh my, I've been on this real food journey for a while. My ability to feed my family real food is limited to my budget but I do the best I can to feed my family whole organic foods. Homemade Boppy Pillow

Okay, so for those of you who have looked at my registry, I did register for a boppy pillow but I also wanted to make one myself. I used material from an old cotton sheet we don't use anymore and can't help but wonder if store bought is better than homemade when it comes to this. Anywho, I figure if my pillow is just as good as store bought the registry one can always be returned and if my homemade one fails then I have a genuine boppy as well. Here goes nothing.... I printed out the pattern on the computer and had to tape the pattern together to make this. I got the pattern  here Fold your fabric, or sheet, in half, place pattern along folded side and cut two of the pattern out. Pin the two pieces together with RIGHT sides facing each other. Sew around edges, leaving opening for stuffing, I left my opening right in the middle but you can do whatever you want. Second Week, First Run and Spinach/Chicken Calzone

Ran yesterday, plan this week is to run 3 miles first two runs then 3.5 last run of the week. Nothing too interesting, ran 3 miles, went slowly at 5.6, went hiking with the hubby on Saturday with some decent pain in my knees and wanted to take it slow in case I was sore or something. Had pain all down my right side towards the end and after, not sure what to think of that. I have a known hip injury that flares up sometimes on my right side, we'll have to wait and see what happens. Plan for dinner tonight was spinach and chicken calzone. In and effort to be more healthy, I made the calzone crust with whole wheat. Easy recipe from eatingwell.com, whole wheat flour, yeast, H2O, honey and salt. Quickly threw this together then let it rise twice, very simple. For the filling the original recipe calls for cooking the chicken in the frying pain with a little EVOO. I changed it up a little, I slowly boiled the chicken then shredded the chicken with two forks, cooked onion and garlic
